Staff Accountant

Critical Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and managing financial transactions. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience, proficient Excel skills, and expertise in QuickBooks Online. Prior experience with sales commission calculations is a plus.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Record and reconcile financial transactions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights and recommendations.
• Monitor and review accounting and payroll system reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial analysis and decision-making processes.
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and support external audits, as required.
• Stay updated on accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
• Prior experience with sales commission calculations is a plus.
